THE FARM AT KRYSTAL ACRES

This 50 acre family run farm, originally named Crescent Moon Ranch, was first developed in 1996 as an Alpaca Farm. Crescent Moon Ranch eventually moved to Oregon, and the alpaca farm was bought by the Olson family in the 2000’s. The Olson’s ran the farm for 18 years until their retirement in 2021. The Brahic-Kusner family took over the stewardship of the land and animals, renaming it The Farm at Krystal Acres. They are keen to be involved in their local Fibershed, a push that seeks to return to a more localized and sustainable production of fiber. They use regenerative agricultural practices such as rotational grazing, natural soil improvements, diversifying flora, planting hedges, planting an orchard for bird and insect habitat. The alpaca herd size typically runs between 50 and 60 alpacas. Alpacas are mild mannered animals and enjoy the gentle slopes of the grassy fields and 100 year old oak trees. Stroll in the walkways between pastures, observe (and feed ) the animals, or visit their onsite store which includes alpaca hats, socks, gloves, blankets, coats, toys and more. Truly a remarkable island experience.
